  1. if anyone was wondering what the connections between henri bergson, martin harrison and the epic of gilgamesh are then here is your answer: together they bind (and ultimately unhinge) the australian top order. phillip hughes is definitely a bergsonist. slater was too. perhaps this helps explain why michael clarke is not coming in at number four. is his a post-literate modality? maybe clara holds the key to this? up to this point i’ve somehow failed to notice the network of relations between the ponting innings (if we can take that as an individual unit of some kind) and harrison’s summer (if we can take that as an individual unit of some kind).

    it was martin harrison who told me that i had to read henri bergson’s matter and memory. and i did.
